• MINNESOTA HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY PROGRAM <br /> PROGRAM SUMMARY <br /> The City of St. Anthony, in collaboration with the Counties of Hennepin and Ramsey, is <br /> applying for $150,000 in Community Rehabilitation Grant funds from the Minnesota Housing <br /> Finance Agency to acquire and clear residential property for the purpose of implementing <br /> systems of flood control, primarily for the benefit of persons residing in adjacent housing. <br /> The City of St. Anthony is looking at acquiring residential properties for flood mitigation <br /> efforts. The properties to be acquired will be demolished and holding or retention ponds will <br /> be developed to prevent persons residing in adjacent housing from future flooding. <br /> The total cost for this flood project is estimated at $870,000. <br /> 1. Purchase of properties $610,000 <br /> 2. Demolish and clearing of homes $ 75,000 <br /> 3. Develop ponding, landscaping, etc. $125,000 <br /> 4. Engineering and legal fees 60,000 <br /> Total $870,000 <br /> • Source of Funds <br /> Minnesota Housing Finance Agency $150,000 <br /> Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (FEMA) $550,000 <br /> City of St. Anthony Storm Sewer Fund $170,000 <br /> Total $870,000 <br /> The City of St. Anthony has hired an engineering firm, WSB & Associates, to analyze the <br /> impact of acquiring the five homes. This study will assist the City to ensure the funds <br /> applied under the program will be effective in flood mitigation and prevention. <br /> The City will have the property owners sign waivers to assure that program benefits are not <br /> duplicated from other funding sources. <br /> The administrative capacity would be provided by staff listed from Hennepin County and <br /> Ramsey County as well as those from the City of St. Anthony: <br /> Hennepin County: <br /> Ramsey County: <br /> • <br />
