• St. Anthony Firefighters <br /> Union Agreement <br /> Page 12 <br /> 14.5. No vacation leave shall be granted during the probationary <br /> period, defined in Section 8.1 .3. Vacation leave will accrue <br /> during the probationary period. <br /> 14.6. Vacation leave may be used as earned provided that the <br /> Department Head has final approval of the time at which each <br /> EMPLOYEE may take his vacation, giving preference to the senior <br /> EMPLOYEE'S requests. If the EMPLOYEE splits his vacation time, <br /> he shall be given preference on the basis of seniority for only the <br /> first request of time. <br /> 14.7. Accrued vacation pay at time of termination of service or <br /> retirement shall be calculated at the hourly rate in Section 10.2 <br /> of this Agreement. <br /> 14.8. Accrued, but unused, vacation leave shall be paid to EMPLOYEES <br /> upon termination of or retirement from employment. <br /> 14.9. EMPLOYEES taking vacation in the amounts of one week or more <br /> may receive vacation pay in advance if pay day occurs during the <br /> vacation period. <br /> 14.10. Vacation requests will be selected on the basis of seniority until <br /> MARCH 15th of each year. <br /> 14.11 . Vacation leave shall be considered worked hours for the purpose <br /> of determining eligibility for vacation, insurance, holiday or <br /> overtime benefits. <br /> 15. SEVERANCE SCHEDULE. <br /> 15.1 . Severance pay in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of <br /> accumulated sick leave not to exceed a maximum of three <br /> hundred sixty (360) hours shall be paid to all employees leaving <br /> employment in good standing after three (3) years. <br /> 15.2 Severance pay is to be computed at straight time on the <br /> following basis: Annual Salary = Severance Pay Per Shift <br /> 122 <br /> • <br />
