• St. Anthony Firefighters <br /> Union Agreement <br /> Page 13 <br /> 16. SICK LEAVE/SICK LEAVE BANK. <br /> 16.1 . Sick leave shall be granted when necessary for personal illness, <br /> injury or legal quarantine. The City Manager, at his discretion, <br /> may require a doctor's certificate showing the nature and extent <br /> of any injury or illness. <br /> 16.2. Sick leave with pay will be accrued by all EMPLOYEES at the rate <br /> of one (1) shift for each calendar month of employment or major <br /> fraction thereof. <br /> 16.3. Sick leave shall be granted when necessary for personal illness, <br /> injury, legal quarantine of the EMPLOYEE, illness of the <br /> EMPLOYEE'S spouse or the hospitalization of the EMPLOYEE'S <br /> child or parent. If an EMPLOYEE is a single parent, or if a child of <br /> the EMPLOYEE is ill and his/her attendance at home is necessary, <br /> sick leave may be used by the EMPLOYEE. <br /> • 16.4. During the probationary period described in Section 8.1 .3 of this <br /> Agreement, sick leave may not be used. <br /> 16.5. Sick leave shall be allowed to accumulate to a maximum of two <br /> thousand eight hundred eighty (2880) hours. <br /> 16.6. An EMPLOYEE who is receiving Worker's Compensation <br /> payments, may be granted sick leave pay for the amount of the <br /> difference between Worker's Compensation payment and his/her <br /> usual pay. <br /> 16.7. After any member of the Fire Department accrues sick leave to <br /> the maximum allowed, all sick leave over the maximum will be <br /> tabulated and credited to a sick leave bank list, which will be <br /> kept on file in the City offices. <br /> 16.8. A committee, consisting of the City Manager and two (2) <br /> members of the Fire Department shall be created and before any <br /> member of the Fire Department can use any of the sick leave <br /> from the bank, he/she must have the approval of the committee. <br /> Under no circumstance shall anyone be allowed use from the sick <br /> leave bank until their accrued sick leave has been used.
