• -2-
b. Al Villeila appeared for final approval of his new plat known as
Villella Addition. Upon motion by Kronk, seconded by Miedtke$ it was moved
to recommend to the Council that this plat be approved as submitted.
Motion Carried.
ot
/` c. Mr. Dunphy, Happy's Potato Chip Company, appeared and the possibility .
of odor was further discussed. Mr. Dunphy pointed out that there are several
ways to control odors of this type but are not satisfactory solutions to the
porblem. The plans are to use a stack 25 ft. high and this should eliminate
the possibility of odor to a minimum. The question of employee parking was
discussed and the board felt that an additional 20 cars be included in the
parking area. Mr. Dunphy was also requested to put in plantings and grass
in front of the building and also- a redwood fence around the parking area.
Upon motion by Miedtke$ seconded by Kronk, to recommend that the Council
approve plans for the construction of Happy's Potato Chip plant on Chandler
Drive.
Motion Carried.
8. Building permits
-/Chuck West, PDQ Food Stores of Minnesota, appeared regarding a proposed food
store at 3309 Stinson Boulevard. The property has a house on it which
will be removed by the new owners if Mrs. Amerman does not have it relocated.
The proposed pian calls for 2 driveways, but after discussion it was decided
that only one 25 ft. curb cut be allowed on the north end of property. A 14
ft. driveway on the north side of building was not approved as this would not
allow for a side yard of 10 ft. required in Ordinance 66, Section 6, Subd. 3c.
This would eliminate any delivery to the rear of the building. An alternate
proposal for allowing a driveway on the north side of building would be given
if the building width was reduced by 10 ft. Screening was requested on the
north and east side of building. Upon motion by Mesenbring, seconded by
Miedtke, it was recommended that the Council approve preliminary pians.
Votieg on the motion:
Aye: Mesenbring, Kronk, Miedtke
Nay: Howitz
Motion Carried.
a.
