a
r
VILLAGE OF ST, ANTHONY
PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
January 16, 1968
1. The regular meeting of the Planning Board was called to order by Chairman
Howitz at 7:35 P.M. on Tuesday, January 16, 1968.
2. The following were present at roll call:
Mesenbring, Harty, Elam, Howitz, Englund, Kronk
3. The Minutes of the meeting of December 19, 1967, were approved as sub-
mitted.
4. Ordinance Variation
/1. Mr. Curry requested that stucco be permitted in place of brick on
fire walls at 3817 Macalaster Drive. Mr. Curry also pointed out that no
footings were provided for brick work. This is a condition that has resulted
from not requesting a variance at the time the plans were first submitted to
the Planning Board.
• Upon oration by Mesenbring, seconded by Elam to recommend to the Council that
the request by Mr. Curry to use stucco on the concrete block fire walls in
place of brick be denied.
Motion Carried.
5. Public Hearing
The Chairman announced that this was the time and place to hold a public
hearing on request of the Village Council to consider a street name change
on 311-2 and 3211 Avenue N.E. John Szafranski, 2904 - 314 Avenue N.E. represent-
ing the residents on 3111 Avenue in favor of a name change gave several reasons
for wanting this change. The real problem was getting mail delivered corr-
ectly. He also stated that a postman living on 3119 was in favor of this change
as the 1/2 causes a mailman considerable trouble and confusion.
The results of a telephone poll of all 55 residents on 3111 Avenue were 29
yes, 18 no and 8 undecided.
Gerry Kindall, 31123211 Avenue N.E. represented those in favor of a change
on 3215 and stated that their problem is the same as that on 3A& A telephone
poll of all 45 residents on 3211 Avenue resulted in 33 yes, 8 no and 4
undecided. After considerable discussion and hearing all thosethat wanted to
be heard, the Chairman asked for a show of hands of those in favor of a
change on 311& This resulted in a yes count of 14. Then a no vote was taken
• and the result was 11 not in favor of a change. Then those in favor of a
change on 3215 were asked to raise their hand which resulted in a count of
9 for the change. Then those not wanting a change were polled resulting in
a no vote of 6.
Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Kronk, to recommend to the Council that
the street name change for 311-2 and 3211 be approved.
Motion Carried. 1
