Zoning Variations <br /> Harvey Kaplan, representing Vadnais Construction Inc., discussed at length <br /> • the best use of the land that Vadnais Construction Inc. owns in the Village <br /> and also the adjacent property located in Roseville. Mr. Kaplan requested <br /> that the board issue a statement in regard to the use of the property adjacent <br /> to the road. The Board felt that it did not want to make a recommendation <br /> at this time. Upon motion by Elam, seconded by Miedtke, to table the request <br /> for further study with the Village Attorney. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> 7. Old Business <br /> None <br /> 8. a. Bob Bailey, Chairman of the Park and Recreation Advisory Committee, <br /> discussed with the Planning Board the recommendation of this committee at <br /> their meeting on March 5,1968, pertaining to the proposed 33 unit apartment <br /> on Highcrest Road north of 37th Avenue. Upon motion by Elam, seconded by <br /> Englund, to recommend to the Council that the grading on the Village property <br /> not exceed a 3 :1 slope. Cedar Properties to place top soil and sod all <br /> graded areas. Also any area of building on north side exposed to the basement <br /> level be faced with brick. Ralph Wagner of Dolan Engineering agreed to these <br /> provisions and was also requested to meet with Duane Miedtke prior to the <br /> Council meeting on March 26, 1968, and have a finished drawing of plantings <br /> • and green area. The Board empowered Miedtke to approve or disapprove this <br /> drawing. <br /> • Motion Carried. <br /> b. Walbon Excavating - no action <br /> c. The plans for a double bungalow and four car garage by Orville Hauge <br /> on the old N.S.P. property on 33rd Avenue were reviewed by the Board and <br /> they felt this required no deviation from the Ordinance. <br /> d. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Elam, to recommend to the Council <br /> that the request by Red Owl to brick up the N.W. corner of their building <br /> which is now glass be approved. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Miedtke, to recommend to the Council to <br /> deny the request by Red Owl to cut a new door opening on the east side of <br /> their building. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Mesenbring, Elam, Miedtke, Englund <br /> Nay : Howi tz <br /> • Motion Carried. <br /> • <br />
