letter objecting to rezoning and McDonald's as a tenant because <br /> ed with this type of business and reduced property values on 27th <br /> . ane of 2700 27th Avenue N.E. would like to see the area remain residential <br /> o �ause they bought a home in the last two years. <br /> Mr. Moore of 2612 27th Avenue N.E. wants to keep the area residential. <br /> Mrs. Kieffer stated that the traffic on 27th Avenue would be greatly increased by <br /> the change. <br /> Mr. Kelly said that the area is unsaleable as residential as one third of the lot <br /> is now zoned commercial. <br /> Mr. Ondrey stated that this type of business might not be in the best interest for <br /> the people along 27th Avenue and that a counter proposal of some type might be <br /> considered for the area. <br /> Mr. Loeffler pointed out that there had been 23 accidents in this area in 1971. <br /> It was recommended that the Police Department be contacted on the problems which <br /> might be associated with this proposal. <br /> Mr. Parrill stated that the property was not suitable for residential use but <br /> felt that its use should be restricted by a special use permit and not be left wide <br /> open with a commercial zoning. <br /> The hearing was closed at 9:05 and a 15 minute recess was declared. <br /> • The meeting reconvened at 9:20. <br /> Motion by Parrill, seconded by Ondrey, to deny the request for rezoning of prop- <br /> erty on Kenzie between Firestone and American Legion property . <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Carlson, Parrill, Kronk, Bratland, Letourneau, Ondrey <br /> Nay: Herman <br /> \Mot on carried. <br /> Motion by Herman, seconded by Parrill to deny the request by Kentucky Fried <br /> Chicken for a continuous sign on three sides of the building. Approval is given <br /> if the sign is extended around the sides and kept within the allowable sign area <br /> and a definite break is made at this point, the rest of the area may be illuminated. <br /> ti Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Ondrey, seconded by Bratland, that the Council Chambers be available <br /> the first Tuesday of the month for the Planning Board work sessions. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Chairman instructed Thomas Ondrey to draft an ordinance controlling the <br /> exterior and interior of Village property. <br /> Motion by Herman, seconded by Ondrey to adjourn. <br /> Motion carried.
