Subject to final approval of a mature landscaping and sod plan. <br /> 2. Subject to it being developed as a 236 program. <br /> 3. Subject to final approval of construction plan. <br /> 4. Subject to it being preferentis.l to St. Anthony Village residents. <br /> 5. Subject to Planning Board review of geological survey. <br /> Motion carried, as amended. <br /> Recess from 10:05 to 10:15 P.M. <br /> Public Hearing to consider a request for a C.U.P. for the construction of <br /> retirement housing to be located in the St. Paul Salvation Army Camp in the <br /> area presently occupied by cottages and other buildings along the northeast <br /> shore of Silver Lake and bordered by Silver Lake Road. <br /> Mr. Jack Safar gave a lengthy explanation of site, building concept and routine <br /> which would be followed by residerts;-of this project. <br /> Mr. Bruce Abrahamson gave a detailed description of the site, the buildings and <br /> • project faclflities. <br /> Myron Dudynski questioned the number of parking spaces providtd for the residents. <br /> Abrahamson: There is adequate parking space available, above the number <br /> recommended by HUD. We could literally double the number of spaces if necessary, <br /> we have much land to work with. <br /> Doug Jones asked if the nature trail would be available to public. <br /> Safar: "There is a plan for a public nature bail". <br /> Dr. Carr appeared before the Planning Board and stated: "We came before the.- <br /> Council two years ago with a complete proposal for the camp with no proposal <br /> for elderly housing, this came as news to me. However, I have no fear of how <br /> they will run this project, the Salvation Army will run the operation. I would <br /> tend to be in favor of this proposal. <br /> Mr. Zahhos: "What is the Salvation Army's plan for the total use of that land? <br /> Brig. Kish: Presented an aerial map of the camp and stated plans for camping <br /> areas, dining hall building, year round camping facilities, nature trails, <br /> housing for elderly and the rest ;o-uld be maintained for wildlife. <br /> Doug Jones stated he was against this proposal because the Salvation Army was <br /> • limiting the number of people who would be able to enjoy this prime lake site. <br />
