ANTHONY <br /> • PIANNING BOARD MINUTES <br /> April 16, 1974 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:37 P.M. by Chairman McGinn. <br /> The following were present at roll call: McGinn, LeTourneau, Carlson, and Mr. <br /> George Marks who is replacing Mr. Peterson as a member of the Board. <br /> Also present: Harry Lekson <br /> Jim Fornell <br /> Mr. Thompson arrived at 7:38 P.M. <br /> Minutes of the March 19, 1974 meeting of the Board were amended to include Mr. <br /> Kronk as present at roll call. <br /> Motion by Mr. LeTourneau and seconded by Mr. Carlson to approve the minutes of <br /> March 19th as amended. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Public Hearing on granting a conditional use permit for a real estate office at <br /> 3901 Silver Lake Road opened at 7:40 P.M. <br /> Mr. Ray Marshall of Midwest Planning presented revised site plans for the proposed <br /> • conversion of the home situated on the W. 186 ft of Lot 94 Block 6, MVA 2nd Add'n. <br /> Plat No. 50510, Parcel090061to a real estate office for the Frederick Herfurth <br /> Real Estate Company. Revisions included the 12 parking spaces requested by the <br /> Council, two narrow driveways replacing the present curb cut which the Council <br /> had felt was too close to the intersection of 39th and Silver Lake Road and <br /> compatible changes in the landscaping. <br /> Mrs. Carol Brown, who would serve as manager of the proposed real estate operation <br /> as well as Mr. Frederick HeiiL'Lrth, owner of the business, answered questions from <br /> the Board and neighbors of the adjoining property regarding their ownership of the <br /> land and Mr. Herfurth told the Board that he felt the decision they arrived at <br /> should be made on the merits of that particular land use and not on what happened <br /> to the adjacent property. <br /> Mr. Gordon Hedlund, owner of the property north of the site in question said the <br /> Rembrandt Company who had a conditional use permit to erect retirement apartments <br /> on the property were operating under an option to buy and were waiting for clear- <br /> ance of their FHA loan application by HUS. <br /> Opposing the granting of the conditional use permit unless Rembrandt had actually <br /> started building were Mrs. George Thompson,3015 39th Avenue N.E. , and Mrs. Chester <br /> Nelson, 3916 Macalaster Drive. Mr. Myron ]ludynsky, 3913 Penrod Lane, said he felt <br /> the real estate operation was not an objectionable use of the land but was also <br /> concerned with the land use of other undeveloped lots along Silver Lake Road. <br /> Mr. & Mrs. Frank Holien, former owners who pian to build on the lot to the rear of <br /> the land in question, said the landscaping plans for screening the proposed business <br /> from their view made the granting of Herfurth's request acceptable to them. <br /> The hearing closed at 7:59 P.M. <br />
