Planning Commission Meeting Minutes
October 17, 2006
Page 8

Commissioner Galyon asked Mr. Hamann to explain how the security system is tested after
installation.

Mr. Hamann replied he used a smaller alarm that is not very loud to test it.

Chair Stromgren asked Mr. Hamann if he mounted tires and rims.

Mr. Hamann replied he did but his business is geared more towards the audio. He stated tires
would be mounted manually without the use of pneumatic tools.

Commissioner Hanson asked Mr. Hamann if he would require outside storage for tires and rims.

Mr. Hamann replied if someone wanted tires or rims he would need to order through a
wholesaler, as he did not stock them.

Commissioner Jensen asked Mr. Hamann if there was a location in the Industrial Park for his
business.

Mr. Hamann replied Ms. Hawk approached him on using her location. He stated he is happy
with the current location.

Commissioner Jenson asked for the square footage of the building.

Mr. Hamann replied it was about 1300 square feet.

Commissioner Young asked Mr. Hamann if cars would be stored outside at night.

Mr. Hamann stated they would not take on that amount of inventory for liability purposes.

Chair Stromgren stated the only concern would be noise potential for the residents in the area.

Commissioner Hanson asked what the hours of operation would be.

Mr. Hamann explained the hours would be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
and possibly on Saturday from until 1:00 p.m.

Commissioner Jensen asked Staff if Mr. Hamann would need to apply for a Conditional Use
Permit(CUP) or could his business be permitted as applied.

Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes replied it would be dependent upon the interpretation of
the ordinance, but since they are not doing any type of auto repair and it is a commercial district
he would be allowed there.
