Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes I <br /> � g <br /> June 17, 2008 <br /> Page 4 <br /> i <br /> 1 Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes stated the City Council selected American Legal <br /> 2 Publication to complete the recodification of the City's Code of Ordinances. The ordinances <br /> 3 have not been reviewed and recodified since 1993. Staff received a proposed draft of the <br /> 4 recodified City Code in April to review and respond with comments and corrections by June 13, <br /> 5 2008. American Legal Publishing has also asked for copies of new and revised ordinances <br /> 6 approved by the City Council since the beginning of the year. The Commission has been <br /> 7 provided with staff responses to items highlighted for review. Staff is currently awaiting a <br /> 8 response from American Legal Publications. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Chair Stromgren inquired about the approval process timeline. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes replied she has had 60 days to review the proposed draft <br /> 13 since it was received in April and some of her comments will be incorporated into the document. <br /> 14 If American Legal Publication has additional comments they will be submitted to her and she <br /> 15 will have a certain time to respond. The contract with American Legal Publication states that the <br /> 16 City will receive a recodified document by the end of 2008. The document will be presented to <br /> 17 Council for approval as soon as it is received by staff and they are satisfied with the document. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Chair Stromgren asked if the contract includes PDF documents for the City website. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes replied yes, American Legal Publication has agreed to put <br /> 22 the document on a disc that can be downloaded onto the City's computers. There is also the <br /> 23 option for American Legal Publication to hold the document on their website for a fee. The <br /> 24 document is available for review at City Hall. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 X. REPORTS FROM STAFF <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes reported the following information has been included in <br /> 29 the Commission's packet: <br /> 30 ■ Email from Commissioner Jensen regarding ideas for conversation with the Planning <br /> 31 Commission <br /> 32 ■ Information from the League of Minnesota Cities Loss Control Seminar regarding discretion <br /> 33 of Planning and Zoning Commissions according to Minnesota State Statute <br /> 34 ■ Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors April Market Statement <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes reported that the Comprehensive Plan has been fully <br /> 37 submitted to the Metropolitan Council. Staff was informed last week that the Plan is ready to go <br /> 38 for the most part, with the exception of the Water System Summary. Staff has been informed the <br /> 39 City has until October to submit this portion of the Plan. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 XI. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 None. <br /> 44 <br />
