Section 155.22 PROHIBITED SIGNS,(B)(13) Signs Affixed Utility Poles and Fences. Signs painted, attached,or in any other manner affixed to trees, rocks,or similar natural surfaces,or attached to utility poles, bridges,towers,fences or similar public structures; and Section(B)(21) Off-Premises Signs,which are defined as a commercial speech signs which direct the attention of the public to a business,activity conducted,or product sold or offered at a location not on the same premises where such business sign is located(155.03 DEFINITIONS). The proposed text amendment is attached. It proposes to: 1.) limit the size of the sign; 2.) the signs are to be temporary in nature for seasonal removal; 3.) signs will not be permitted to be animated or flashing;4.) the signs cannot be closer than 250 feet to any residential district;and 5.) they must face inward toward the playing field. Other conditions may be added as the result of the City's approval process. In addition,the proposed amendment would require the applicant to apply for a conditional use permit so as to insure that the installed signs. Staff received some calls asking for more information about the proposed amendment but none opposing this text amendment.
