REVIEW OF THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY CONTRACT. <br />2 The City Manager presented a letter he recently received from the prosecuting <br />3 attorney regarding that firm's continued interest in serving the City. The letter <br />4 outlined services and attorney time required to provide prosecuting services. <br />5 VI. OTHER BUSINESS. <br />6 1. Proposals for Storm Water Management Plans. The City Manager reported <br />7 that he received proposals from five firms and has interviewed representatives <br />8 from these firms. He informed the Council that because the City is looking <br />9 for consulting services, the City is not required to go out for bids. His <br />10 recommendation was to select WSB. This item will be on the Council <br />11 agenda for the March 11, 1997 meeting. <br />12 2. Proposal from BRW, Inc. Regarding Park Planning. The City Manager <br />13 reviewed the letter received from BRW, Inc. regarding their proposal for <br />14 preliminary park planning of Central Park and the new City Center. BRW, <br />15 Inc. discussed a willingness to look at alternative site options for tennis <br />16 courts, ball fields, etc. The City Manager was directed to meet with the <br />17 Sports Boosters and Community Services for their ideas and suggestions. <br />_8 3. City Retirement Policy. The City Manager reported that he submitted <br />19 a copy of the resolution that will set the City's policy for early retirement <br />20 for City employees to the City Attorney. The City Attorney sent a letter <br />21 listing various issues to look at when putting this policy together. The City <br />22 Manager indicated that this resolution has been prepared and will be on the <br />23 Council agenda for the March 11, 1997 meeting. <br />24 4. Discuss Disposition of Old Office Furniture. The City Manager presented a <br />25 letter he received from Warren Rolek, Superintendent of Schools. Mr. <br />26 Rolek requested that the School District be allowed to select useable pieces <br />27 from the old furniture. The Council directed the City Manager to negotiate <br />28 a price with the Superintendent. <br />29 VII. COMMENTS. <br />30 1. The City Manager reported that the Police and Fire Departments have asked <br />31 if they could use the old city hall to train in. <br />32 2. The Mayor informed the Council that he got an invitation to attend an <br />33 Eagle Scout Court of Honor to be held Saturday, March 8, 1997 at 1:30 P.M. <br />34 at the Nativity Lutheran Church. <br />,5 3. The City Manager reported that the Volunteer Dinner will be on May 1, <br />36 -1997 at Donatelle's starting at 6:30. He also reported that the League of <br />37 Minnesota Cities will appeal the MFRS ruling on behalf of the cities <br />38 involved. <br />
