REVIEW OF THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY CONTRACT. 2 The City Manager presented a letter he recently received from the prosecuting 3 attorney regarding that firm's continued interest in serving the City. The letter 4 outlined services and attorney time required to provide prosecuting services. 5 VI. OTHER BUSINESS. 6 1. Proposals for Storm Water Management Plans. The City Manager reported 7 that he received proposals from five firms and has interviewed representatives 8 from these firms. He informed the Council that because the City is looking 9 for consulting services, the City is not required to go out for bids. His 10 recommendation was to select WSB. This item will be on the Council 11 agenda for the March 11, 1997 meeting. 12 2. Proposal from BRW, Inc. Regarding Park Planning. The City Manager 13 reviewed the letter received from BRW, Inc. regarding their proposal for 14 preliminary park planning of Central Park and the new City Center. BRW, 15 Inc. discussed a willingness to look at alternative site options for tennis 16 courts, ball fields, etc. The City Manager was directed to meet with the 17 Sports Boosters and Community Services for their ideas and suggestions. _8 3. City Retirement Policy. The City Manager reported that he submitted 19 a copy of the resolution that will set the City's policy for early retirement 20 for City employees to the City Attorney. The City Attorney sent a letter 21 listing various issues to look at when putting this policy together. The City 22 Manager indicated that this resolution has been prepared and will be on the 23 Council agenda for the March 11, 1997 meeting. 24 4. Discuss Disposition of Old Office Furniture. The City Manager presented a 25 letter he received from Warren Rolek, Superintendent of Schools. Mr. 26 Rolek requested that the School District be allowed to select useable pieces 27 from the old furniture. The Council directed the City Manager to negotiate 28 a price with the Superintendent. 29 VII. COMMENTS. 30 1. The City Manager reported that the Police and Fire Departments have asked 31 if they could use the old city hall to train in. 32 2. The Mayor informed the Council that he got an invitation to attend an 33 Eagle Scout Court of Honor to be held Saturday, March 8, 1997 at 1:30 P.M. 34 at the Nativity Lutheran Church. ,5 3. The City Manager reported that the Volunteer Dinner will be on May 1, 36 -1997 at Donatelle's starting at 6:30. He also reported that the League of 37 Minnesota Cities will appeal the MFRS ruling on behalf of the cities 38 involved.
