ANTHONY <br />? CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MINUTES <br />June 3, 1997 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />1• CALL TO ORDER. <br />II. ROLL CALL. <br />Councilmembers Present: Ranallo, Marks, Enrooth, Wagner, Faust. <br />Also present: Michael Mornson, City Manager; Kim Moore - Sykes, Management <br />Assistant; Roger Larson, Finance Director; and Richard Johnson, Fire Chief. <br />III. DISCUSSION OF WATER TREATMENT FUND. <br />Roger Larson, Finance Director, presented a report on the water filtration fund <br />balance. Future maintenance needs of the filtration plant were discussed and hiring <br />an engineering consultant to assist the City will be considered. <br />IV. DISCUSSION OF PURCHASE OF FIRE TRUCK. <br />Chief Johnson presented a request for the purchase of a new fire truck to replace <br />the one that is 25 years old. The Council directed the Chief to start the bidding <br />process. The City Manager indicated <br />Council meeting. that he will have a resolution at the June 9th <br />V. DISCUSSION OF FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION. <br />Chief Johnson reported on the Relief Association fund. Council discussed a City <br />contribution to the fund. <br />VI. SAV II UPDATE. <br />The City Manager reported that the SAV II bid closing has been pushed back two <br />days; the bid closing will be Tuesday, June 10th. The City Manager also reported <br />that he talked with Bob Thistle, of Springsted, regarding the sale of bonds. He <br />indicated that Mr. Thistle recommends a negotiated bid. <br />VII. CAPITAL EQUIPMENT PLAN, <br />The City Manager reported that the Staff recently reviewed and revised the City's <br />Capital Equipment Plan draft. He said that the plan was last done in 1992 and <br />most of the projects outlined in that document have been completed. The <br />exceptions are the purchase of a new fire truck, which will be done this year, and <br />maintenance work for the water tower. The water tower is scheduled to be <br />inspected and painted in 1998. <br />VIII. 1998 ROAD IMPROVEMENT PLAN. <br />The City Manager reported that Staff is beginning to plan for road construction for <br />1998. He asked Bob Moberg of RCM t <br />for the following streets: o put together a preliminary <br />Edward Street: 35th Avenue to 34th Avenue <br />41 Hardin Street: 36th Avenue to 34th Avenue <br />41 Roosevelt Street: 35th Avenue to 34th Avenue <br />cost estimate <br />
