I IX. DISCUSSION OF AUDIT FIRMS. <br />2 The City Council discussed if there was a need to change audit firms. The y <br />3 directed the City Manager to talk with other cities to determine who they use and <br />what they pay for auditing services. <br />5 X. OTHER BUSINESS. <br />6 A. SchnitzerUdate The Management Assistant reported that the University <br />7 of Minnesota's clean -up of the Schnitzer site continues and is on schedule. <br />8 <br />9 They anticipate the clean -up to finished by the end of July. The MPCA and <br />10 the State still have not responded to the letter sent to them by Common 11 Counsel. Effective July 1, 1997, new legislation will outline the cost <br />recovery process for sites like Schnitzer. <br />12 B. Memorandum of Understandin with ISD 282 Relatin to 1997 Elections. <br />13 The City Manager reported School District has submitted a Memorandum of <br />14 Understanding stating that they agreed to have the City Clerk conduct the <br />15 <br />16 school elections at the local General Elections scheduled for Nov. 4. They 17 further agree to reimburse the City 50% of the costs. The MOU will be on <br />the June 9th Council agenda for consideration. <br />18 C. Mayor /Council Salaries. The City Manager reported on the mayor /council <br />19 <br />20 salaries of surrounding metro -area cities. The resolution will be on the June <br />9th agenda for consideration. <br />21 D. Discuss Advertisement for a Buildin Ins ector. The City Manager reported <br />that he has put together a job posting for the Building Inspector position. <br />24 He indicated that it will be published in the LMC's CitiesBull_ -tin and the <br />closing date for applications is July 25th. <br />25 E. Review iuly 29rh a enda. <br />26 Budget Planning meeting scheduled fo J July 29thS The, nger ehwilgbe no work <br />27 session meeting on July 1st. <br />28 F. KFC /Video U date Buildin . The City Manager reported that the owners <br />29 of the KFC and Video Update buildings contacted him to find out if the <br />30 City was interested in purchasing the property. <br />31 G. ParksParks�rCe The City Manager indicated that he will put an ad in the <br />32 <br />33 local newspaper this week seeking interested residents to serve on the Parks 34 task force. Appointments to the Parks task force could be made at the July <br />8th Council Meeting. <br />35 H. Councilmember Marks reported that the Fire Brigade Band from Salo, <br />36 Finland will be arriving in St. Anthony on Saturday, be <br />37 here for about 10 days. He also reported that the Sister Citytcommittele has <br />38 planned several activities for the group and they will be performing a series <br />39 of concerts in the metro area. One of the concerts will be performed on <br />Thursday, June 19th in St. Anthony Community Center. A flag raising <br />'' ceremony will take place before the concert. <br />
