Housing and Redevelopment Authority Meeting Minutes
November 26, 1996
is Page 4
1 Motion by Ranallo, second by Enrooth to approve the Change Order to create a raised
2 platform for the Council bench and seating in the amount of $7,000.00.
3 Mayor Ranallo stated he felt the Council Chambers was the showplace of the whole
4 building. He stated he had worked in conditions where the platform was raised and
5 conditions where it was not and felt it was better if the platform was raised.
6 Voting on the motion:
7 Aye: Enrooth, Ranallo.
8 Naye: Marks, Faust, Wagner.
9 The motion failed.
10 Mayor Ranallo noted if the platform was not raised at this point of construction, it would
11 never be raised.
12 Mr. O'Brien stated it is still anticipated that the building will be completed the first week
13 of January, 1997.
0 Mayor Ranallo asked if the Council would like the Chamber of Commerce to handle
15 dedication of the new building.
16 Marks noted this is a big event for the City of St. Anthony. He felt that all the
17 organizations in the City should have a stake in some part of the dedication.
18 Morrison noted the Chamber of Commerce had done an excellent job on the dedication
19 ceremony for the CUB Foods Store.
20 Mayor Ranallo explained the Chamber was considering having the ceremony last an
21 entire day, with kids playing in the gymnasium, the orchestra playing in one of the
22 community rooms, and police and staff present. They are suggesting a coordinator be
23 hired and are considering asking Bonnie Brevor.
24 Marks noted many residents are not in the community during the winter months. He
25 suggested the ceremony be held in April after most people have returned.
26 Enrooth stated he felt the ceremony should be held earlier.
27 Motion by Enrooth, second by Wagner to appoint the Chamber of Commerce to handle
4 the new City HallICommunity Center dedication ceremony to be scheduled sometime in
mid February.
