City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />February 10, 2009 <br />Page 6 <br />1 times the 911 call will help the Police Department find the bad guy. He stated citizen <br />2 involvement resulted in solving a bank robbery and the arrest of a pair of burglars. <br />3 <br />4 Mayor Faust expressed the deep gratitude of the Council and residents to the police officers and <br />5 reserve officers. He stated the officers are risking their lives on the citizens' behalf and it does <br />6 not go unnoticed. When he talks to the residents they are very impressed with how the work is <br />7 done. <br />9 VI. GENERAL BUSINESS OF COUNCIL. <br />10 <br />11 None. <br />12 <br />13 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />14 <br />15 City Manager Morrison reported on the following: <br />16 ■ Thank you to Liquor Operations Manager Larson and Police Chief Ohl and their staff for <br />17 the reports presented tonight. <br />18 ■ Silver Lake Village: Building permits are on file for Smash Burger and Radio Shack. <br />19 ■ Staff met with the garbage haulers as a result of the Single Hauler Task Force Report. <br />20 Dialogue will continue on the issues that were brought up in the single hauler task force <br />21 meetings. <br />22 ■ Last week Mayor Faust, Finance Director Larson, and he attended an Ehlers & <br />23 Associates seminar where St. Anthony was mentioned by two city managers and a <br />24 developer as a city that did something right. <br />25 ■ The Fire Department recently conducted CPR classes at St. Anthony and St. Charles <br />26 schools. <br />27 ■ The Water Reuse Project has received an Honorable Mention for Project of the Year by <br />28 the City Engineers Association of Minnesota. <br />29 ■ Mayor Faust and Public Works Director Jay Hartman received an Environmental <br />30 Leadership Award from the Freshwater Society for efforts to reduce the environmental <br />31 impacts of winter road maintenance. <br />32 <br />33 Councilmember Gray reported on the following: <br />34 ■ Thursday February 5, 2009 St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce Board meeting. This <br />35 month's general membership meeting will be held on February 17, 2009 and will include <br />36 a round table discussion on the future of the Chamber. Executive Director George <br />37 Wagner will be retiring from his position on the Board. <br />38 ■ February 5, 2009 North Suburban Communications Commission meeting. He will serve <br />39 as Chair of the Commission this year and President of the North Suburban Access <br />40 Corporation which oversees CTV. <br />41 ■ February 26, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. there will be a meeting held at the offices of North <br />42 Suburban Communications Commission for anyone in the ten cities area that would like <br />43 to talk about community broadband network. <br />44 <br />45 Councilmember Roth: No report. <br />46 <br />
