City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />February 10, 2009 <br />Page 7 <br />Councilmember Stille: No report. <br />3 Councilmember Thuesen: No report. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Faust reported on the following: <br />6 ■ January 28, 2009 he and City Manager Morrison met with the mayor and city manager of <br />7 Columbia Heights to discuss setting ground work to look at cost sharing. There will <br />8 dialogue at the city manager /finance director /public works director level about ways to <br />9 possibly share service or equipment that would benefit both cities. <br />10 ■ On February 3, 2009 he and Public Works Director Hartman accepted an award from the <br />11 Freshwater Society on the 8`h Annual Road Salt Symposium for efforts to reduce the <br />12 environmental impacts of winter road maintenance. <br />13 ■ February 4, 2009 City Council work session included a discussion on a number of issues <br />14 including the budget and the creation of a number of meetings in the future on how to <br />15 move forward with the budget. <br />16 ■ February 5 and 6, 2009 Public Finance Seminar which included presentations on the <br />17 importance of the City having a financial plan in place for a disaster. <br />18 ■ February 9, 2009 Vital Aging Council meeting. There was discussion on the Adopt a <br />19 Bench Program, the monitors and availability of earphones in the City Council <br />20 Chambers, transportation options that are available, Clean-Up Day, service on the Police <br />21 Department 24 hour call list, and the possibility of Vital Aging Council meeting dates <br />22 being included on the new electronic sign in addition to the information currently being <br />23 included in the Village Notes and Channel 16. <br />24 City Manager Morrison and he met with the city managers and mayors of Lauderdale and <br />25 Falcon Heights. Police Chief Ohl provided an overview for the cities. They are extremely <br />26 pleased with the efforts of Police Chief Ohl and the efforts of his police officers. <br />27 <br />28 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />29 <br />30 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />31 are not on the regular agenda. <br />32 <br />33 Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />34 <br />35 IX. <br />INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br />36 <br />37 <br />None. <br />38 <br />39 X. <br />ADJOURNMENT. <br />40 <br />41 <br />Mayor Faust adjourned the meeting at 8:24 p.m. <br />42 <br />43 <br />44 <br />45 <br />46 <br />
