ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 24, 2009 <br />;t11 II IIIY17l1i'O <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Pro Tem Stille called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />8 <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Pro Tem Stille invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 ROLL CALL. <br />14 <br />15 Present: Mayor Pro Tem Stille; Councilmembers Gray, Roth, and Thuesen <br />16 Absent: Mayor Faust <br />17 Also Present: City Manager Mike Morrison, City Attorney Jerome Gilligan, Police Chief John Ohl, <br />18 Fire Chief John Malenick, Todd Hubmer, WSB & Associates, Inc. Justin Messner, <br />19 WSB & Associates, Inc. <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />23 ITEMS. <br />24 <br />25 I. APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 24, 2009 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />26 <br />27 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve the City <br />28 Council Meeting Agenda of February 24, 2009. <br />29 <br />30 Motion carried unanimously. <br />31 <br />32 1I. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />33 <br />34 A. Autumn Woods Fire Update. John Malenick, Fire Chief John Ohl Police Chief, and <br />35 Rose Fitzierrells, Autumn Woods presenting, <br />36 <br />37 Fire Chief Malenick provided an update on the February 13, 2009 fire at Autumn Woods <br />38 Apartments. He reported on the efforts of the Fire Department to extinguish the fire. He thanked <br />39 the cities of Columbia Heights, Roseville, Fridley, Minneapolis and New Brighton for their <br />40 assistance. He also thanked the Salvation Army, Red Cross, the St. Anthony Fire Department, <br />41 the property owners, and Autumn Woods Manager Rose Fitzjerrells. <br />42 <br />43 Police Chief Ohl expressed his pride in the firefighters. He provided information on the goal of <br />44 the Police Department to support the fire fighters, which is done through crowd and traffic <br />45 control and setting up for the media. <br />46 <br />47 Ms. Rose Fitzjerrells, Autumn Woods Manager, expressed her thanks to Chief Malenick, Chief <br />48 Ohl, and the City. She commended the teamwork of the Fire Department, Police Department and <br />49 Public Works Department and stated the City is 100% ready for a disaster. Within minutes <br />
