Consider Resolution 08 -044 Approval of the First Amendment to the Hennepin County <br />3 Construction Agreement. <br />4 <br />5 City Engineer Hubmer reviewed the resolution with the Council and indicated that the proposed <br />6 resolution accepts Amendment 1 to the Construction Services Agreement with Hennepin County <br />7 for the Silver Lake Road Improvement Project. The amendment authorizes payment to the City <br />8 for $195,075.00 to provide water quality treatment for the Silver Lake Road Improvements, <br />9 which will be provided under the Water Reuse Facility Project. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Faust commended City Engineer Hubmer for the negotiations with Hennepin County on <br />12 the County's participation in the Water Reuse Facility Project. <br />13 <br />14 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to adopt Resolution 08- <br />15 044, Approval of the First Amendment tot eh Hennepin County Construction Agreement. <br />16 <br />17 Motion carried unanimously. <br />18 <br />19 City Engineer Hubmer explained with the Silver Lake Road Project, the Water Reuse Project, <br />20 and the possibility of reconstructing the City Hall parking lot, the contingency funds available <br />21 are minimal at most. He informed the Council of the possibility of coming forward at a future <br />22 date to request additional funds if there are significant changes to the projects. <br />23 <br />24 Councilmember Roth requested information regarding the sod that was recently put in on 27th <br />25 Avenue that is brown. <br />26 <br />27 City Engineer Hubmer replied the contractor will be required to replace the sod. Staff had <br />28 notified the contractor shortly after the installation that the sod was not adequately watered. The <br />29 sod was not cared for according to the City's specifications and the replacement will be at no <br />30 expense to the City. <br />31 <br />32 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />33 <br />34 City Manager Morrison reported on the following: <br />35 ■ League of Minnesota Cities Conference — June 11th — 13`h <br />36 ■ Letter received from Columbia Heights Police Chief recognizing the efforts of St. <br />37 Anthony Officers Jeff Spiess, Tressa Sunde and Josh White in assisting with the <br />38 apprehension of a burglary suspect on June 5, 2008. <br />39 ■ Deadline to apply for the Single Garbage Hauler Task Force has been extended to July <br />40 17th. The intent is to appoint the task force members at the July 22 "a City Council <br />41 meeting. The first task force meeting is intended to be scheduled for August 18th. As of <br />42 this date there have been two applications submitted. <br />43 ■ Two Committees will begin in July — 1) Transportation and General Government; 2) <br />44 Metro Cities and Personnel, LMC. <br />45 ■ The July 8, 2008 City Council meeting is not necessary; Council may choose to cancel <br />46 the meeting. <br />
