City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 23, 2008 <br />Page 2 <br />1 Mr. Paul Strum, Kiwanis Club, stated 100% of the fundraising efforts of the Kiwanis Club go <br />2 into the programs they sponsor. One program they are involved with is a program at the <br />3 elementary school where they read one on one with children falling behind with their reading. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Faust expressed appreciation to the Kiwanis Club for their years of service and their work <br />6 in the community. He commented it would be appropriate to get more parents involved with the <br />7 Kiwanis Club since they do so much for students. <br />8 <br />9 III. CONSENT AGENDA. <br />10 <br />11 A. Resolution 08 -060: Support for St. Anthony -New Brighton Community Services <br />15 Recreational Programs for 2009 and 2010. <br />16 <br />17 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve the Consent <br />18 Agenda items. <br />19 <br />20 Motion carried unanimously. <br />21 <br />22 IV. PUBLIC HEARING. <br />23 <br />24 None. <br />25 <br />26 V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF. <br />27 <br />28 A. Resolution 08 -061 • Approval of a Lot Subdivision of 3,062 square feet for 4024 Silver <br />29 Lake Terrace. <br />30 <br />31 Pete Chaput, Planning Commission Member, provided the report on the September 16, 2008 <br />32 Planning Commission public hearing on the approval of a lot subdivision of 3,062 square feet for <br />33 4024 Silver Lake Terrace and a lot subdivision of 337 square feet for 4020 Silver Lake Terrace. <br />34 He stated the Planning Commission unanimously recommends approval of the proposed <br />35 subdivisions and combinations. <br />36 <br />37 Councilmember Stille verified with Commissioner Chaput that there was a concept review on the <br />38 proposed lot subdivisions the month prior to the public hearing. He asked if there was any <br />39 discussion at the concept review or public hearing in regards to issues /concerns or neighbor <br />40 input. Commissioner Chaput replied the Commission had inquired whether there was any input <br />41 from the neighborhood. There were two calls. One individual wanted to insure that the walkway <br />42 easement providing access to Silver Lake is protected. The other caller simply wanted more <br />43 information about the proposed subdivision. There was also discussion of easements and <br />44 setbacks, all of which has been resolved. <br />45 <br />
