Senior Transitions <br />Mr. Momson noted that this year they have changed the structure of the goals to be considered as <br />more long term. The goals are being looked at in five year increments, which will be updated and <br />reviewed annually at a Goal Setting Retreat. <br />Mayor Faust commended the efforts of staff and Council with the goals. <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />Mr. Morrison reported on the following: <br />• Alcohol compliance checks were conducted in October. All businesses in the City that <br />serve alcohol passed the compliance checks. <br />• The first November City Council meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, <br />November 12`h due to the Veterans' Day holiday on Tuesday, November 11 `h. <br />• Council members are requested to inform staff it they are planning to attend the Metro <br />Cities Regional meeting. <br />• Stacie Kvilvang of Ehlers & Associates and he met with Fannie Mae this morning and <br />requested an extension on the Silver Lake Village loan as requested by Lenn Pratt, <br />Housing Developer for Silver Lake Village. The impression is that the extension will be <br />granted, and that Fannie Mae will be expecting payments from the developer by the end <br />of the year. <br />• Information on Planning Commission and Park Commission vacancies are included in <br />the City Newsletter <br />• The City ordinance has been amended to allow parking on City streets from November 1't <br />to April ls`. The snow emergency hotline will be updated to provide information on <br />whether there is a snow emergency in effect. The hotline number is 612- 782 -3333. The <br />ordinance amendment includes a sunset and the new parking requirements will be <br />reviewed in the spring. <br />• The City has received many absentee ballots. Parking at City Hall will be posted "Voting <br />Only" on Election Day. There will be overflow parking available at the church across the <br />street and at the fire station. The other two precincts will be signed for voting parking as <br />well. <br />Councilmember Roth suggested incorporating a text messaging system if it is determined to <br />continue with the snow emergency process after the review in the spring. He noted there may <br />also be other city functions text messaging could be used with as well. <br />Councilmember Thuesen stated he has nothing to report. <br />Councilmember Gray stated he has nothing to report. <br />Councilmember Roth reported on attending the Emerald Park Open House on October 27 "' <br />Councilmember Stille reported on attending the Single Hauler Garbage Task Force meeting on <br />October 20`h and the Emerald Park Open House on October 27`h <br />
