City Council Regular Meeting Minutes November 25, 2008 Page 5 1 ■ The Fire Department has purchased one of the first carbon monoxide detectors for the 2 Department. 3 ■ Bob Paschke, Public Works Supervisor for 17 years, has resigned to take a job with the 4 City of Monticello. His last day will be tomorrow. 5 ■ The Metro Cities Regional Meeting included a recommendation on implementing a sewer 6 inspection policy. It has been verified that the City currently does a good job with its 7 sewer inspection program. Also, Chair of the Metropolitan Council, Peter Bell, 8 encouraged cities to submit their comprehensive plans. 9 ■ Improvements to the Council Chambers that are included in the budget will be done 10 between December 17`h and January 13`h 11 ■ The City Hall parking lot was finished today with a base to last through the winter. A 12 mill, overlay and striping will be completed next year. 13 14 Mayor Faust requested Mr. Mornson to express the Council's thanks to Mr. Paschke for his 17 15 years of service. 16 17 Councilmember Roth reported on his attendance at the Metro Cities Regional Conference last 18 week. 19 20 Councilmember Stille reported on the following: 21 ■ His attendance at the November 14, 2008 Silver Lake Road Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 22 ■ His attendance at the November 17, 2008 Final Single Hauler Garbage Task Force 23 Meeting. Findings of fact and a recommendation will be presented to the City Council at 24 the December 8, 2008 City Council meeting. 25 • The public is invited to attend the December 7, 2008 Sister City Annual Meeting at 7:00 26 p.m. 27 28 Councilmember Thuesen reported on his attendance at the following events: 29 ■ Metro Cities Regional Conference last week 30 ■ Silver Lake Road Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 31 32 Councilmember Gray reported on his attendance at the Metro Cities Regional Conference last 33 week. 34 35 Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the following events: 36 ■ November 14, 2008 Silver Lake Road Dedication. The brass plaque presented to 37 Commissioner Stenglein by the City of St. Anthony with a signature of his father as 38 Mayor emeritus was very appreciated. Thank you to the residents that live on the street 39 and their patience with the project. 40 ■ November 15, 2008 Committee meeting on the exploration of creating a veterans 41 memorial in the City of St. Anthony 42 • November 18, 2008 General Meeting of the Chamber of Commerce — speaker on the 43 topic of current economic issues 44 ■ November 18, 2008 Middle Mississippi Watershed Management Organization Board 45 Meeting— the organization is still looking for a site for a new building.
