City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />December 8, 2008 <br />Page 4 <br />1 Mr. Pratt, developer, stated they are continuing to work with what they believe to be a very <br />2 marketable piece of property. He stated he is committed to this development and they have to <br />3 work together in 2009 to try and make this possible. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Faust thanked Mr. Pratt for speaking to the Council and stated he felt they needed to get <br />6 this done. He thought it was important to be proactive. <br />8 Motion by Councilmember Roth, seconded by Councilmember Thuesen, to adopt Resolution 08- <br />9 080; Fannie Mae. <br />10 <br />11 Councilmember Stille stated people get wrapped up in the value of the land but there is <br />12 increment as well. He stated the developer is interested in this community and he supports <br />13 moving forward. <br />14 <br />15 Motion carried unanimously. <br />16 <br />17 D. Consider Ordinance 08-007, Dog Ordinance (Final Reading). <br />18 <br />19 Mr. Morrison reviewed the ordinance with the Council. <br />20 <br />21 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to Approve Third and <br />22 Final Reading and Adopt Ordinance 08 -0007; Dangerous Dog Ordinance. <br />23 <br />24 Motion carried unanimously. <br />25 <br />26 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />27 <br />28 City Manager Momson congratulated the Finance Department for the recent award they <br />29 received. <br />30 <br />31 Mayor Faust referenced the Truth in Taxation meeting and suggested holding a property tax <br />32 forum so people could be educated on how the taxes are figured. <br />33 <br />34 Councilmember Stille stated the annual Sister City meeting was held last night with a historical <br />35 talk on how Finland and its independence came to be. <br />36 <br />37 Councilmember Gray stated on Thursday, December 4, 2008, he attended a symposium in Eden <br />38 Prairie on fiber optic based community networks and felt it was a very worthwhile meeting. He <br />39 found it interesting and thought they would continue to look at that option for St. Anthony. <br />40 Councilmember Gray reported on the monthly meeting of the Dorsey Rubin Communications <br />41 Commission that he attended and the difficult franchise audit with Comcast that is currently <br />42 being done. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Faust also attended the Sister City meeting and found it was very interesting to hear about <br />45 students that are going to Finland. <br />46 <br />
