Automated Meter Replacement Program Update.
Mr. Hubmer stated there had been a delay of about two and one half weeks in the delivery of
some of the transmitters and the receiver. He stated all the water meters and transmitters arrived
and the receiver should arrive and be up and working by the end of the week. He reported
installation began on the commercial properties of St. Anthony Village and notices to residences
went out this week. Mr. Hubmer indicated installation would start next week or the week after
beginning with Silver Lake Road, because of its topography, to find out where the best signal
readings are to locate the transmitters inside the homes. He explained portions of the City will
be completed at a time with notices sent out for scheduling appointments. He stated a schedule
will be mailed to residents and posted on the website.
Mayor Faust clarified that a post card would arrive in about two weeks explaining what is
happening.
Mr. Hubmer replied that was correct. He stated an inspection for sump pumps and foundation
drain inspection would be done at the same time. He explained that if a home is found to be out
of compliance the resident would have until June 1, 2007 to correct the problem. He stated after
June 1, 2007, the City would begin charging $100 per month until compliance is met.
Mayor Faust stated the City would work with the residents to ensure they are able to become
compliant in a reasonable amount of time.
Mr. Hubmer replied they would work with residents as long as they are making a good faith
effort to comply.
VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS.
City Manager Morrison reported beginning February 6, 2007; the School Board will televise the
first regular monthly meeting from Council chambers. He indicated no summer dates have been
selected. They do meet Tuesday, November 6, 2007, which is the election night. Typically the
City Council has met that night to canvas the results. He asked Council to think about this as
they have seven days to canvas the results. He stated their live feed would be on Channel 16, but
the replays would be on the school channel.
City Manager Morrison reported there would be no meeting with the School Board on January
30, 2007 at the request of the School Board as they are waiting for a report on various programs
for future school needs; this will not be available until mid February. He stated they have asked
to consider rescheduling the meeting for March 13, 2007 after the Council Meeting.
City Manager Mornson reported on the 2007 Council meeting schedule. He mentioned the
ordinance states when a holiday falls on a meeting date, which it does this year, that it must meet
the preceding Tuesday which would also be the Planning Commission meeting night.
