City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />April 10, 2007 <br />Page 3 <br />City Engineer Hubmer replied it is because this system had a larger transmitter in the homes that <br />could be read from a greater distance. He stated the receiver would be used for other utilities as <br />well and St. Anthony would not be the only user. <br />6 Councilmember Stille asked if St. Anthony paid a premium rent. <br />7 <br />8 City Engineer Hubmer replied the City pays on a per -read basis. <br />9 <br />10 City Engineer Hubmer commented it took four months to get the rights to the Pillsbury Tower <br />11 accepted and the location authorized. <br />12 <br />13 Mayor Faust mentioned it took only 20 minutes for the installation at his house. He asked if this <br />14 was the standard time. Mayor Faust commented that he assumed everyone would receive <br />15 notification and scheduled timeframe. <br />16 <br />17 City Engineer Hubmer replied 20 minute is typical; however, there are situations where it is <br />18 difficult to access the meter. He stated some internal plumbing issues that have occurred where <br />19 the installer must come back after the issues are fixed by the homeowner. <br />20 <br />21 Mayor Faust stated it is fair to say that if a resident can see the meter it should be painless. <br />22 <br />23 City Engineer Hubmer reported next on the Silver Lake Road Reconstruction Project. He stated <br />24 two meetings were held on April 5, 2007 to discuss the logistics of relocating the gas main and <br />25 undergrounding the overhead utilities along the Silver Lake Road corridor. He stated the utility <br />26 work is scheduled for July or August and would take three to four months to complete. <br />27 <br />28 City Engineer Hubmer reported the second meeting was a stakeholders meeting to discuss the <br />29 construction staging and construction related traffic issues during the construction of Silver Lake <br />30 Road. He stated he wanted to make sure everyone was educated as to when and how long Silver <br />31 Lake Road would be closed and alternate locations to City Hall, Fire Department, and Police <br />32 Department. <br />33 <br />34 City Engineer Hubmer commented he is still working with Hennepin County on the funding <br />35 structure. <br />36 <br />37 City Engineer Hubmer encouraged residents and stakeholders to call the contact number to <br />38 resolve issues before they become large issues. <br />39 <br />40 City Engineer Hubmer stated that on April 26, 2007, 6:30 an open house is schedule for Silver <br />41 Lake Road. He invited everyone living along Silver Lake Road to attend to see the landscaping <br />42 and restoration plan. He commented he is always interested in the concerns and comments of the <br />43 residents. <br />44 <br />
