City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />July 24, 2007 <br />Page 4 <br />Mr. Weber replied that could be done. He stated St. Anthony is performing well relative to <br />conservation. <br />4 Councilmember Thuesen directed Mr. Weber to page 1 -7 regarding the Apache Shopping <br />5 Center. He recommended alternate wording for clarity. <br />6 <br />Councilmember Thuesen referred Mr. Weber to page 1 -8 and pointed out an inconsistency with <br />the table on page 1 -10. <br />10 Mr. Weber replied it is in relation to the Metro area. <br />11 <br />12 Councilmember Thuesen referenced page 2 -25 on solar energy suggestions. He asked if building <br />13 solar units would be part of the codes. <br />14 <br />15 Mr. Weber replied it had more to do with not blocking sunlight to adjacent buildings. <br />16 <br />17 Councilmember Thuesen referenced page 4 -5 and asked Mr. Weber to verify the ball fields in <br />18 Central Park with Mr. Jay Hartman. <br />19 <br />20 Councilmember Thuesen referenced page 4 -6 to point out it should be mentioned that Silver <br />21 Point Park is also a temporary holding pond for flood protection. <br />22 <br />23 Mayor Faust directed Mr. Weber to categorizing open space on page 2 -1 in. He pointed out <br />24 there are 1506 acres of land in the City including 119 acres in parks, 157 acres in golf courses, <br />25 and 72 acres of water and wetlands. He asked if the ratio of open spaces is about 20 percent <br />26 overall. <br />27 <br />28 Mr. Weber replied that was a fair assessment. <br />29 <br />30 Mayor Faust asked where cemeteries are listed. <br />31 <br />32 Mr. Weber replied cemeteries are listed under institutional space. <br />33 <br />34 Mayor Faust referred Mr. Weber to page 2 -3 on the Comprehensive Land Map, stating land <br />35 listed as park between 33`d and 34°; however, this is a tennis court on private property. <br />36 <br />37 Mr. Weber replied he would have this corrected <br />38 <br />39 Mayor Faust referred Mr. Weber to page 3 -12 asked if this would be an appropriate place to <br />40 enter the Adopt a Bench Program. <br />41 <br />42 Mayor Faust referenced page 4 -9 and the underground connection for the Emerald Park area. He <br />43 commented that perhaps a better way to do this is to consider a bridge over the railroad tracks, <br />44 which might a more feasible way to connect Macalaster Drive with a bridge. <br />45 <br />
