Mayor Faust stated at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday the helicopter rides stop, no matter how many people are in line. He asked Councilmember Gray to take this back to the Village Fest Committee. 9 Councilmember Stille reported attending the ribbon cutting for Wells Fargo Bank on Friday, July 10 20, 2007 11 12 Councilmember Thuesen reported he completed an elected official's leadership academy 13 sponsored through the Anoka Ramsey Community College. 14 15 Councilmember Thuesen reported he was on the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee and 16 thanked everyone for diverse views, opinions, and for their contributions. 17 18 Mayor Faust reported he attended the League of Minnesota Cities Board meeting on June 26, 19 2007. He stated St. Anthony is held in high regard and consequently given more attention by the 20 League of Minnesota Cities. He stated it gives him the opportunity to bring back information 21 from other cities. He commented on the Broadband Taskforce. 22 23 Mayor Faust reported the City hosted the Middle Mississippi Water Organization on July 10, 24 2007. He stated this is another organization that continues to help the City. 25 26 Mayor Faust reported he attended Futures Fiscal Policy meeting July 11, 2007. He commented 27 St. Anthony did not receive any local government aid (LGA); however, they receive 17 percent 28 of the City's budget from liquor store off sale. He stated there is a commonality that cities are in 29 this together and should support each other. 30 31 Mayor Faust reported Representative Grieling spoke to the Chamber of Commerce July 17, 2007 32 about the legislative process and the $400,000 she received for the school. He stated the 33 Chamber works with the City, community, and the school and the Local 49ers union. 34 35 Mayor Faust reported attending the League of Minnesota's Board retreat July 18 -20, 2007 to set 36 up a three -year plan. He commented on the good cooperation between cities, counties, and 37 schools. 38 39 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM 40 41 Mr. Tom Fahrenholz, 4009 Shamrock Drive NE, stated word on the street is Wal -Mart is 42 leaving. 43 44 Mayor Faust stated he had heard that rumor; however, he has not received any confirmation. 45
