ANTHONY <br />2 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />3 December 11, 2006 <br />6 CALL TO ORDER. <br />7 Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />11 <br />12 ROLL CALL. <br />13 Present: Mayor Faust; Councilmembers Gray, Horst, Stille, and Thuesen. <br />14 Absent: None. <br />15 Also Present: City Manager Mike Morrison, City Attorney Jay Lindgren, Police Chief <br />16 John Ohl, Fire Chief John Malenick, and Assistant Fire Chief Don Drusch. <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />20 ITEMS. <br />21 <br />22 I. APPROVAL OF THE DECEMBER 11, 2006 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />23 Motion by Councilmember Horst, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve the City <br />24 Council Meeting Agenda of December 11, 2006. <br />25 Motion carried unanimously. <br />26 <br />27 11. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />28 A. Fire Prevention Poster Award RecogWtio n. <br />29 <br />30 Fire Chief John Malenick stated one of the responsibilities the Fire Department is to maintain a <br />31 fire prevention program under the supervision of Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Marshal Don <br />32 Drusch. He indicated fire prevention includes not only fire code enforcement by the chance to <br />33 educate young people on fire safety. He introduced Assistant Chief Drusch to present the <br />34 awards. <br />35 <br />36 Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Marshal Drusch explained the concept of the fire prevention poster <br />37 contest for the City. He reported that several years ago, a St. Anthony student won the state <br />38 contest and last year's winner advanced to the state level and received honorable mention. He <br />39 stated the Fire Department is very proud of the students from Wilshire School's 40' and 5a` grades <br />40 who participated in this year's contest. He informed Council that this year's theme was "watch <br />41 what you eat" relating to cooking fires. <br />42 <br />43 Assistant Fire Chief Drusch presented the Fire Prevention Awards to: First Place to Ellen Slayton <br />44 from Mrs. Frank's 50' Tade class received a certificate and $25.00; Second Place to Jacklin Jung <br />45 from Ms. Kopesky's 4 grade class received a certificate and $20.00; Third Place to Madison <br />46 Roemer from Mrs. Wilkinson's 4a' grade class received a certificate and $15.00; and Fourth <br />47 Place to Megan Christenson from Mrs. Crotteau's 5a' grade class received a certificate and <br />48 $10.00. Chief Malenick mentioned Megan Christenson also placed fourth in the 2005 contest. <br />
