City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />December 11, 2006 <br />Page 2 <br />1 He stated the first place winner also received a plaque and $10.00 from the North Suburban <br />2 Mutual Aid Association and $25.00 for finishing in first place in the St. Anthony contest <br />B. Citizen Commendation Award for Barry Tedlund Fitness Crossroads and Distingwshed <br />Service Award to Lt. Mark Sitarz. <br />7 Mayor Faust and Chief Malenick presented a Citizen Commendation Award to Mr. Barry <br />8 Tedlund, Fitness Crossroads, and a Distinguished Service Award to Lt. Mark Sitarz, St. Anthony <br />9 Fire Department, for their dedication to the community and the Memorial Blood Center Drives in <br />10 St. Anthony. Chief Malenick stated they organized four separate blood drives over the past year. <br />11 Chief Malenick mentioned he has become a regular blood donor and learned that one in three <br />12 people would need blood in their lifetime. He also learned that one pint of blood could save <br />13 three lives. <br />14 <br />15 C. Certificate of Commendation for John Bladow. <br />16 <br />17 Police Chief John Ohl presented a Certificate of Commendation and letter of appreciation to Mr. <br />18 John Bladow in recognition for exceptional actions or activities taken on behalf of the Police <br />19 Department and the City of St. Anthony. He explained that on November 14, 2006, Mr. Bladow <br />20 assisted the St. Anthony Police Department in the apprehension of a suspect that was fleeing <br />21 police officers. He stated this action lead to the arrest of the suspect on charges of obstructing <br />22 police with force as well as three warrants, one of which was for felony narcotics. <br />23 <br />24 D. Boy Scout Den #9 Citizens Badge Recognition. <br />25 <br />26 Mayor Faust presented the Citizens Badge to the members of Boy Scout Den #9. He stated he <br />27 had the opportunity to meet with the Scouts before the City Council meeting and had the <br />28 privilege of answering questions posed by the Scouts. <br />29 <br />30 Mayor Faust expressed his gratitude to each of the individuals receiving recognition for their <br />31 dedication and service to St. Anthony. <br />32 <br />33 III.
