City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
May 9, 2006
Page 8
been working on this matter and indicated that St. Paul Public Art is requesting a resolution
stating the City supports the installation.
Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to adopt Resolution 06-
050, Supporting the Installation of the Stone Sculpture at Salo Park in the City of St. Anthony.

Motion carried unanimously.

E. Consider Resolution 06 -051 Dedication of Salo Park

Mayor Faust stated he initiated this resolution, noting the dedication of Salo Park will be held on
June 8, 2006, at 5 p.m. at Silver Lake Village. Mayor Faust read the resolution in full.

Motion by Mayor Faust, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to adopt Resolution 06 -051,
Recognizing the Dedication of Salo Park in recognition of the Sister City relationship between
Salo, Finland and St. Anthony, Minnesota.

Motion carried unanimously

VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS.
City Manager Morrison reported the following:
• Upcoming Vital Aging Council meeting and presentations by the Police Chief and Fire
Chief.
• MnDOT has a new grant program for sidewalk construction that provides a safe school
zone to transport students. Staff will make application and request a resolution of support
from the school district. He noted that the Highcrest sidewalk is on the agenda for next
year construction and a workshop will be held tomorrow on that project. Since this
sidewalk divides Roseville and St. Anthony, it may be possible to do something more
with that project.
• It is anticipated that the e-mail subscriber list for the Police Department will be ready by
June 1, 2006. Subscribers will be sent crime alerts.
• Lauderdale is not interested in a joint purchase of a speed cart and Falcon Heights has
indicated they will buy their own. St. Anthony will probably budget for a speed cart,
which is estimated to cost $4,000.
• Cable Telecaster Ruth Olson has given notice that she will be leaving shortly once a
replacement is found. Arden Hills and Little Canada have also lost their telecaster so the
Cable Commission may hire someone to do this work at the three cities and then bill the
city for the hours used. Mr. Morrison stated an article regarding this opening will be
placed in the newsletter.
• Mr. Morrison advised of the items that will be on the May 23, 2006 Council meeting
agenda, noting it will be a full agenda.

Councilmember Thuesen asked whether the speed cart will provide the City with downloadable
information. Mr. Morrison stated he does not know and will ask Police Chief Ohl. He noted the
old speed cart did provide that type of information. Mayor Faust agreed that the City would like
that data.
