Mr. Morrison replied this is how they laid out the program <br />3 that is being offered to the City. The report may come back and say it is not feasible, so they <br />4 may not need to do a market study. He added in April Council can discuss whether or not to go <br />5 to the next step. <br />7 Mayor Faust stated the Star Tribune article notes the St. Louis Park pilot program starts in <br />8 January. He noted Council has not yet discussed ownership yet because it is too early in the <br />9 process. He added doing the feasibility study would not be premature, Council can decide <br />10 whether or not to go to the next step in April 2006, after receiving the study report and data from <br />11 other cities. <br />12 <br />13 Motion by Councilmember Grey, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to adopt Resolution 05- <br />14 091, re: approving a wireless internet connectivity feasibility study with Columbia <br />15 Telecommunications Corporation, with a change to NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED <br />16 THAT, the amount to $14,500. <br />17 <br />18 Ayes — 4, Nays — 1(Horst). Motion carried <br />19 <br />20 C. Consider Resolution 05 -092, re: 2006 contract with Greater Metropolitan Housing <br />21 Corporation. <br />22 Mr. Momson reviewed the resolution with the Council and indicated that this is the annual <br />23 renewal of the contract with GMHC. The total cost of $12,500 is the same as 2005. He added <br />24 the total number of clients served is high. <br />25 <br />26 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to adopt Resolution 05- <br />27 092, re: 2006 contract with Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation. <br />28 <br />29 Mayor Faust stated he attended a meeting recently with the county assessor and it was noted that <br />30 people are keeping their houses in good repair and finding reputable contractors; therefore, there <br />31 are positive things that come out of this. <br />32 Motion carried unanimously, <br />33 <br />34 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br />35 City Manager Morrison reported the following: <br />36 • Next Tuesday, November 29'", at 6:30 p.m. is the joint meeting with the school board. <br />37 • Interviews for the Park and Planning Commission seats will be held Tuesday, November <br />38 29'" at approximately 7:45 p.m. <br />39 • Windows on doors are ordered, mirrors are in the hallway, and security camera upgrade <br />40 proposals are being sought for City Hall. <br />41 • An emergency operations plan is now in the library and will be in the January newsletter. <br />42 • He commended Tim Briski for solving 14 theft cases between three cities. <br />43 • He has been elected to the Metro Area Managers Association Board for a three -year term. <br />44 • Centerpoint Energy will offer free low flow showerheads to all their customers. <br />45 • There will be a Silver Lake Task Force Meeting next Monday. <br />46 • Awards will be presented for the fire prevention program at the December 13 Council <br />47 meeting. <br />
