City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 25, 2005 <br />Page 3 <br />Councilmember Horst questioned if they are a corporate restaurant. Ms. Sienko answered they <br />are. <br />4 Mayor Faust inquired how many employees the restaurant will have. Ms. Sienko explained there <br />5 will be approximately 90 in the beginning. That is what has been successful before. She said as <br />6 business levels off, and attrition takes place, the employee count will level off to about 75. <br />8 Mayor Faust commented that the community has wanted an Applebee's for quite some time. He <br />9 thanked her and welcomed Applebee's. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Faust closed the public hearing at 7:17 p.m. <br />12 <br />13 Motion by Councilmember Horst, seconded by Councilmember Thuesen, to approve Resolution <br />14 05 -018 re: A resolution approving the intoxicating liquor license for Apple American Limited <br />15 Partnership of Minnesota, dba Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. <br />16 <br />17 Motion carried unanimously. <br />18 <br />19 V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF. <br />20 None. <br />21 <br />22 VI. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL. <br />A. Consider Resolution 05 -019, re: Adopt 2005 Police Contract. <br />Mr. Mornson reviewed the resolution with the Council and indicated that the Police Union <br />25 settled with the City for a new one -year contract. He pointed out there is a 2% increase, a $30 <br />26 increase in health insurance deductions, and some language changes that assist in effecting the <br />27 new contract. He explained that Article 20, Grievance, has changed with an extra step now <br />28 included. He noted this falls in line with Public Works and the Firefighters Union. <br />29 <br />30 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Horst, to adopt Resolution 05- <br />31 019 re: A resolution ratifying the 2005 agreement between the Law Enforcement Labor Services, <br />32 Inc., representing the St. Anthony Police Department Licensed Employees and the City of St. <br />33 Anthony. <br />34 <br />35 Motion carried unanimously, <br />36 <br />37 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br />38 City Manager Morrison reported the following: <br />39 • There are two applicants for the one Planning Commission vacancy, which is a I -year <br />40 term. Will interview prior to the February 8, 2005 meeting. <br />41 • The two -day goal setting retreat is finished. He invited the councilmembers to look at the <br />42 list of goals. Goals will likely be presented at the March 8 meeting. <br />43 <br />44 Councilmember Stille stated he attended a Blue Ribbon Finance Committee meeting. He noted <br />l' the Committee will continue to meet one or two more times. He said he will present some of the <br />findings in a future meeting. <br />47 <br />
