City Council Regular Meeting Minutes January 25, 2005 Page 3 Councilmember Horst questioned if they are a corporate restaurant. Ms. Sienko answered they are. 4 Mayor Faust inquired how many employees the restaurant will have. Ms. Sienko explained there 5 will be approximately 90 in the beginning. That is what has been successful before. She said as 6 business levels off, and attrition takes place, the employee count will level off to about 75. 8 Mayor Faust commented that the community has wanted an Applebee's for quite some time. He 9 thanked her and welcomed Applebee's. 10 11 Mayor Faust closed the public hearing at 7:17 p.m. 12 13 Motion by Councilmember Horst, seconded by Councilmember Thuesen, to approve Resolution 14 05 -018 re: A resolution approving the intoxicating liquor license for Apple American Limited 15 Partnership of Minnesota, dba Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. 16 17 Motion carried unanimously. 18 19 V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF. 20 None. 21 22 VI. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL. A. Consider Resolution 05 -019, re: Adopt 2005 Police Contract. Mr. Mornson reviewed the resolution with the Council and indicated that the Police Union 25 settled with the City for a new one -year contract. He pointed out there is a 2% increase, a $30 26 increase in health insurance deductions, and some language changes that assist in effecting the 27 new contract. He explained that Article 20, Grievance, has changed with an extra step now 28 included. He noted this falls in line with Public Works and the Firefighters Union. 29 30 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Horst, to adopt Resolution 05- 31 019 re: A resolution ratifying the 2005 agreement between the Law Enforcement Labor Services, 32 Inc., representing the St. Anthony Police Department Licensed Employees and the City of St. 33 Anthony. 34 35 Motion carried unanimously, 36 37 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. 38 City Manager Morrison reported the following: 39 • There are two applicants for the one Planning Commission vacancy, which is a I -year 40 term. Will interview prior to the February 8, 2005 meeting. 41 • The two -day goal setting retreat is finished. He invited the councilmembers to look at the 42 list of goals. Goals will likely be presented at the March 8 meeting. 43 44 Councilmember Stille stated he attended a Blue Ribbon Finance Committee meeting. He noted l' the Committee will continue to meet one or two more times. He said he will present some of the findings in a future meeting. 47
