Resolution 11 -024; Awarding a Bid for the 2011 Street & Utility Improvements. Todd <br />Hubmer, WSB & Associates, presenting. <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councihnember Gray, to approve Resolution 11- <br />024; Awarding a Bid for the 2011 Street and Utility Improvements to Northdale Construction <br />Company for a bid in the amount of $1,379,353.69. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Hubmer answered questions of the City Council regarding previous performance of <br />Northdale Construction. He stated Northdale Construction underperformed in its work for the <br />City in 1999. However, with the 2005 project the company completed its work one month ahead <br />of time and did a fantastic job. Staff spent a considerable amount of time prior to the 2005 <br />project ensuring that the company was prepared to complete the project. Staff has managed <br />projects that Northdale Construction has worked on in other communities since 2005 and they <br />are reasonable to work with. <br />Mayor Faust noted there were 14 bidders on this project ranging from the low bid from <br />Northland Construction at $1,379,000 to a high of $1,813,000. By law the City is required to <br />accept the lowest responsible bidder and due diligence is done by the City Engineer. <br />REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF. <br />None. <br />GENERAL BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL <br />A. Resolution 11 -025• Providing for the Sale of $3,000,000 GO Street Reconstruction <br />Bonds, Series 201 IA. Stacie Kvilvang, Ehlers & Associates, presenting. <br />Ms. Stacie Kvilvang, Ehlers & Associates, provided an overview of the sale of $3,000,000 GO <br />Street Reconstruction Bonds, Series 2011A. <br />In response to questions of the City Council, Ms. Kvilvang explained that the $3,000,000 bond <br />amount consists of $1,940,000 from the 2011 Street Project and $1,060,000 for the refunding of <br />2003A bonds. <br />Motion by Councilmember Roth, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to approve Resolution 11- <br />025; Providing for the Sale of $3,000,000 GO Street Reconstruction Bonds, Series 2011A. <br />
