He indicated Kenzington Terrace <br />tried to purchase the lot but the owner does not want to sell. <br /> <br />Chair Stromgren asked if the proposal is to do the parking shown on both sites on the drawing <br />displayed by Mr. Ranallo. Mr. Ranallo replied it was. <br /> <br />Chair Stromgren recommend they combine both projects when it is presented next. <br /> <br />Commission Galyon asked how many more spaces are required. Mr. Ranallo replied 28. He <br />stated that if the City approved the request, they would seek bids and try to start this year. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jenson asked how he decided 28 was the correct number needed. Mr. Ranallo <br />replied there is not room for more. He said they would like to have 40. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanson stated they often use Autumn Woods for parking. <br /> <br />Mr. Ranallo indicated Autumn Woods has been very good about letting them park there. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanson asked if standing water is an issue. Mr. Ranallo said they have had no <br />trouble with water. He pointed out there is a berm around the building that deters water. <br /> <br />Chair Stromgren stated he saw no problem with this request and it would keep the building <br />viable for the residents. He agreed that currently the parking ratio seemed low. <br /> <br />Mr. Ranallo stated they usually have a waiting list to move in and there is a security person on <br />duty 24/7. <br /> <br />IX. March 20, 2007, 5:30 p.m., Joint Meeting with Council 35 <br />36 <br />37 <br />38 <br />39 <br />40 <br />Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes reported a joint meeting would be held with the City <br />Council at 5:30 on March 20, 2007. She stated Mr. Paul Merwin, Attorney with the League of <br />Minnesota Cities, would speak on the pitfalls associated with land use planning and zoning and <br />being on the Planning Commission. She stated the regularly scheduled Planning Commission <br />meeting would start at 7:00 p.m.
