The average number of donated hours by our <br />Reserve Officers in 2007 was approximately <br />160. I am honored to list those who have gone <br />far "Above and Beyond" the required 150 <br />hours: <br />R/Sgt Kiel Rushton - 361 <br />R/Officer Chase Yadeau — 396 <br />R/Lt Carolyn Quick - 598 <br />Some specific 2007 Reserve Unit accomplishments include: <br />1487 hours of patrol <br />• 320 hours of training <br />• 189 hours logged at Village Fest <br />• 249 hours logged during the State Fair <br />• 60 hours of Crime Prevention activities <br />Additional events in 2007 in which the Unit participated <br />include the collapse of the 35W bridge, role - players in training scenarios, <br />school functions, parades, ice cream socials, bike parades, The 50th <br />Anniversary Public Safety Expo, Mardi Gras, The City Halloween Party, <br />and many more. They also helped local families Christmas shop with the <br />"Shop With A Cop" program, and assisted other agencies with mutual aid <br />requests. R/Lt Quick also became a certified CERT instructor. <br />I am proud to note that R/Officer Elliot Erdman will be moving into a full - <br />time Police Officer position with our department in February, 2008. <br />We look forward to the year in front of us. 2008 will include recruiting, an <br />upgraded Reserve Website and continued growth, responsibility and <br />progress. <br />17 <br />
