City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 10, 2017 <br />Page 4 <br />1 City departments, elected and appointed officials and contracted staff. Staff and elected officials <br />2 from Falcon Heights and Lauderdale also attended. In all, 137 individuals attended the sessions. <br />The facilitators from the Racial Equity Minnesota Network distributed a survey for attendees to <br />complete and have compiled feedback received from the attendees that the City staff Equity <br />Committee will review and share with staff and ultimately use to guide next steps as a City on <br />this topic. <br />9 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />10 <br />11 City Manager Casey reported tonight is the listening session for the Department of Justice at the <br />12 High School. There will be another session tomorrow evening in Lauderdale. The City wants to <br />13 hear from all St. Anthony residents on how they feel about the St. Anthony Police Department. <br />14 There is a link on the website for an email address for those wishing to email their comments. <br />15 The email will be forwarded to the Department of Justice and it will be reviewed. <br />16 <br />17 Councilmember Brever stated she attended the January 6, 2017, the community conversation <br />18 with the DARE to be Real students. On January 8, 2017, she attended the Sister City Meeting. <br />19 She noted next week the Family Services Collaborative Group will be resuming their discussions <br />20 with Racial Equity Minnesota group. <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Jenson stated he attended the Kiwanis meeting, the History Committee meeting, <br />23 and the St. Anthony Fire Department Relief Fund meeting at the end of December. On January 3, <br />24 a liaison to Ramsey County, he attended the retirement ceremony of Matt Bostrom. <br />25 <br />26 Councilmember Stille had no report. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Faust stated on December 15, 2016, there was a press conference along with other <br />29 attendees. This is why the listening sessions have been planned. Suggestions will come from the <br />30 COPS group for recommendations on how to make St. Anthony better. On December 9, 2016, <br />31 Mayor Faust attended the Regional Council of Mayors. Earlier today, he attended the Mississippi <br />32 Watershed Management Organization Board Meeting and Councilmember Reich from <br />33 Minneapolis was re- elected as the Chair. <br />34 <br />35 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />36 <br />37 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />38 are not on the regular agenda. <br />39 <br />40 Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />41 <br />42 IX.
