2015 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />28 <br /> <br />Sustainability Class <br />The University of Minnesota Sustainable Communities class is <br />comprised of cross-colleges, multi-discipline students. This <br />class was their capstone for their sustainability minor. The <br />students were divided up into one of the following teams: <br /> ~ Sustainability Fair <br /> ~ Model Sustainable Home (Quady Home) <br /> ~Scaling Home Energy Savings <br /> ~Sustainability in the Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />Sustainabiliy Fair: <br />Sustainability Fair team was responsible for the <br />coordination of the 3rd Annual Sustainability Fair held on <br />November 19, 2015 at Silverwood Park. Along with St. <br />Anthony and U of M, the Sustainability Fair was sponsored <br />by the cities of Falcon Heights and Lauderdale, Institute on <br />the Environment, Citizens for Sustainability and Three <br />Rivers Parks District. <br /> <br />Model Sustainable Home (Quady Home): <br />The Model Sustainable Home team worked with a local homeowner Roy Quady to assist in <br />renovating his 1950’s single-family home to serve as a model for sustainability. The student’s <br />recommendations will center on the subset of goals in the Living Building Challenge, which <br />exceeds the standards of most other green building criteria to achieve a zero net energy home. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
