The Human Resources Coordinator performs similar duties for the
watershed. Such as coordinating training for staff, participating in annual reviews, and assisting
in the recruitment process. And again, acts as a resource for all staff in personnel matters.
In 2015, the Human Resources Coordinator helped to facilitate the recruitment and on-boarding
of four new, full-time staff persons; Ka Vue, Accountant, Nicole Miller, City Clerk, Quinten
Tucker, Mechanic, and Ismail Turay, Community Service Officer.
In addition, the HR Coordinator manages two staff committees; one being the Health Insurance
Committee and the other being the Safety Committee.
Health Insurance Committee
The Health Insurance Committee (HIC) provides input as to how the
City might design its benefits program to make the best use benefit
funds available. A staff
representative from each City department serves voluntarily, as does the City’s insurance broker
representative. The committee meets at least once per year to review Open Enrollment
information but may meet more often if needed.
Safety Committee
The Safety Committee is a group of representatives from each City
department that aids and advises both management and employees
about matters of safety and health in City operation. With the help of
Integrated Loss Control, Inc., it performs essential monitoring,
educational, investigative, and creative tasks. Such as conducting self-
inspections, developing and maintaining safety policies, providing for employee safety
education, investigate workplace accidents and maintaining certain records including injury
reports, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), training, etc. The committee meets on a monthly basis to
review any injuries and the results of self-inspections and training sessions. Members serve on
the committee voluntarily for at least 3 years, and terms are staggered among the department
representatives.
