PAYROLL
With ADP as the City’s payroll service provider the City is able to provide payroll services for
other entities as it allowed for transitional options for those entities. Additionally it negated the
tax filing risks connected to outside organizations. Utilization of ADP allows the City the ability
to engage employees in the management of their benefits. It also provides access expertise and
guidance in areas such as tax law changes, regulatory compliance. This later benefit was put to
full use with mandated payroll reporting requirements associated with the Affordable Care Act
going into effect for this year; see full discussion under Activity Unique to 2015.
LICENSE/PERMITS
coordination of inspections with the New Brighton Building Official. Annual fees and licenses as
set forth in the city ordinances are also processed using specialized permitting software.
