2015 Annual Report • Fire Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

23 | Page

For the past 2 years Fire Marshal Chris Fuller and Fire Chief Mark Sitarz have been attending a
broad range of classes in pursuit of their Emergency Manager Certification. Both are now two
classes away from reaching that goal which should be
met in early 2016. Continuing education will be a priority
for us as well as pursuing areas of interest that would
directly focus\affect the city.
In February of this past year both Fire and Police did our
annual Active Shooter training where we train together.
This training was held at St. Charles School which gives
us an opportunity to get inside and learn the layout of the
structure. The training that we do is invaluable in many ways. It builds trust between the
departments and allows us to develop better communication and common procedures between
the agencies.
In September, a tabletop training exercise was held for all council members, department
heads ,various department members, Ramsey County Emergency Management and CP Rail.
The focus of this high level training was on a rail emergency in the city. The goals were to give
department heads and council member’s clarity as to their roles and responsibilities, show the
resources needed, gain knowledge as to what resources are available and develop that level of
trust and confidence of each attendee.

VIII. Accomplishments\Highlights
1425 calls for service was the highest in the
history of the department.
