Sustainability <br />2014 Annual Report · Public Works Department · St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br />TECH DUMP <br />New in 2014, we held the fi rst TechDump in the City Hall <br />parking lot on Saturday, November 1st and received 8,777 lbs. <br />of materials. Of that, 11% were computer towers, 4% laptops, <br />17% tube/CRT TVs and monitors, and 68% “misc.” TechDump <br />is the electronics recycling division of Jobs Foundation, a <br />501c (3) non-profi t providing stable jobs to adults with barriers <br />to employment, for them to obtain marketable job skills as <br />well as a pathway to self-suffi ciency. They use the proceeds <br />from recycling and refurbishing electronics to support their <br />organization. This event helped TechDump recycle 4 million <br />pounds of electronics in 2014. Nicole assisted in the coordination <br />of the tri-community Sustainability Festival. In addition <br />to assisting in coordinating this event, Nicole has been <br />contributing to the City’s overall recycling program, <br />working with staff on the carp removal program at <br />Silver Lake, keeping the “sustainability tab” on the <br />City’s website current, helping plan the City’s Clean-Up <br />day, helping plan the rain barrel seminar and fi nalizing <br />storm water projects.
