Training <br />The Fire Department completes a variety <br />of training each year to ensure continued <br />compliance with local, state and federal rules <br />and regulations. On top of the requirements, we <br />have an obligation to the citizens of whom we <br />serve as well as to our families to make sure <br />that we perform our jobs in a safe and effi cient <br />manner. Training together builds teamwork <br />and cleans up the rough edges as best we can. <br />On top of that, the confi dence that is created <br />in each member by knowing your role and <br />responsibility is invaluable. Below you will see a <br />summary of the various areas of training that we <br />have performed both for our members as well as <br />other employees of the city. One goal for 2014 <br />was an increase in training overall from previous <br />years. Not only did we achieve that goal but we <br />almost doubled our hours per person. <br />IN SERVICE TRAINING/ACTIVITY <br />There was 29 staff within the Fire Department at year <br />end in 2014. The 29 staff had a total of 3661 training <br />hours documented in 2014, which averaged 130.8 <br />training hours per person.
