XI. In Summary
2014 Annual Report · Fire Department · St. Anthony Village, Minnesota
17
The department as a whole was very busy with increased focus on training and doing a better job of
keeping track of their time. The requirements that are placed on the members of the department seem to
increase every few years. Much of these are requirements come from the state or at the national level to
make sure that overall we are better prepared for various hazards or incidents. What that means however
is that increased commitment to the department by the members and their families. It is that commitment
to community for whom they serve that allows us to continue with a well-rounded and well-educated
department.
Code Enforcement had another busy year of keeping our community in good shape by remaining
proactive on the enforcement of ordinances. The goal is to keep our community looking the best it can
and to educate homeowners as to why taking care of their properties will only benefi t them. Blighted
properties and negative conditions hurt property values and those around them. By remaining proactive
and educating the public, we are able to keep St. Anthony a very desirable place to live.
Lastly, I would like to extend a heartfelt
thank you the families of our members. The
missed games, interrupted holidays, shortened
weekends or an abbreviated birthday for their
son or daughter because it is on drill night
cannot go unnoticed. Without that support and
understanding none of what we were able to
accomplish would happen. We rely heavily on
you and for that I would like to say Thank You.
