PUBLIC HEARINGS - NONE. <br />10 <br />11 V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF - NONE. <br />12 <br />13 VI. GENERAL BUSINESS OF COUNCIL. <br />14 <br />15 A. Resolution 17 -039 a Resolution Authorizing Issuance, Awarding Sale, Prescribing the <br />16 Form AND Details AND Providing for the Payment of $5.600,000 General Obligation <br />17 Bonds, Series 2017A. <br />18 <br />19 Ms. Stacie Kvilvang reviewed details of the bond sale. The savings is $50,000 per year due to the <br />20 refunding. <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Stille asked who else is involved other than Piper Jaffrey. Ms. Kvilvang stated <br />23 Ehlers Companies, Dorsey Whitney, and Bond Trust Services Corporation. The rate is 2.2% <br />24 rather than 2.58% The City is fortunate to get a good rate. Councilmember Stille noted this is for <br />25 the 2017 street project, refinancing and a new truck, and noted this is packaged all together <br />26 which also saves money. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Faust stated it is important to invest in infrastructure when the rates are this low. <br />29 <br />30 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Brever, to adopt Resolution 17- <br />31 039; a Resolution Authorizing Issuance, Awarding Sale to Piper Jaffrey, Prescribing the Form <br />32 and Details and Providing for the Payment of $5,600,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series <br />33 2017A. <br />34 <br />35 Motion carried 4 -0. <br />36 <br />37 B. Resolution 17 -040 a Resolution Awarding a Bid for the 2017 37t1h Avenue Sidewalk and <br />38 Signal Proiect. <br />39 <br />40 City Engineer Todd Hubmer reviewed the sidewalk improvements are on 371 Avenue NE on the <br />41 south side from Stinson Blvd. to Highcrest Rd. He indicated the location of the traffic signal <br />42 improvements. The project partners are MnDOT, Hennepin County, Ramsey County, City of <br />43 Columbia Heights, City of New Brighton, City of Roseville, and the School District. The Project <br />44 cost and funding was reviewed as well as the Project schedule. <br />45 <br />
