Planning Commission Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 17, 2012 <br />Page 4 <br />1 Chair Jensen asked about the bridge to the island and its width. Mr. Moffat stated he is not <br />2 certain but believes it to be 8 -10 feet wide. Mr. Moffat stated the bridge is approximately 160 <br />3 feet long. <br />4 <br />rvices to the shed. Mr. Moffat there would be no <br />5 Commissioner Chaput questioned the se <br />6 sanitary and no electric but they may incorporate some solar power. <br />7 <br />for the shed. Mr. Moffat stated it would be similar to <br />8 Chair Jensen asked about the color palette <br />9 that palette of the building. <br />10 <br />11 Commissioner Heinis asked if all equipment would be put away at the end of the day. on <br />12 Moffat stated it would since it would be a daytime operation from approximately Memorial Day <br />13 to Labor Day. <br />14 <br />15 Mr. Moffat stated he did a quick survey on the existing parks as to the setback from the <br />16 lakeshore and indicated this project is well within the plan. <br />17 <br />18 Motion by Commissioner Niccum, second by Commissioner Chaput, to recommend approval <br />19 that the City council approve the application for lakeshore setback variance based on the <br />20 following findings of fact: <br />21 <br />to a reasonable use without the variance due to the <br />22 a. That the property cannot be put <br />23 architecture in the planned development; <br />24 b. That the circumstances causing the practical difficulty were not created by the owner; <br />25 C. That the variance, if granted, will not alter the essential characteristics of the locality; <br />26 d. That economic considerations alone are not the basis for the practical difficulty; <br />27 e. That the circumstances causing the practical difficulty are unique to the individual lot; <br />28 and, <br />29 f. The granting of the variance is in keeping with the spirit and intent of the Zoning Code <br />30 and Comprehensive Land Use Plan. <br />31 <br />32 Commissioner Chaput requested an amendment to the conditions for approval to indicate that no <br />33 hazardous materials be stored in the shed with the exception of 5 gallons of fuel at the time. <br />34 <br />35 Commissioner Niccum suggested the carpenter be contacted regarding the peak height. Mr. <br />36 Moffat stated a kayak is 9 feet long. <br />37 <br />Motion carried 5 -0 <br />38 <br />39 <br />40 Chair Jensen will attend the Council meeting on behalf of the Commission. <br />41 <br />42 IX.
