Freestandin olar <br />energy systems greater than <br />fifteen (15) feet in height <br />shall be subject to <br />the minimum yard <br />requirements of a Principal <br />structure The reauired yard <br />shall be measured <br />from the properly line <br />IQ the closest part of the structure <br />at minimum design <br />tilt <br />(3) The supporting framework for freestanding solar energy systems shallnDLindude <br />unfinished lumber. <br />(4) All abandoned or unused freestanding solar energy systems shall be removed within <br />twelve (12) months of the cessation of operations <br />5) Freestanding solar energy systems shall be located in rear and side yard only. <br />(A) In general Applications that meet the design requirements of this policy shall be granted <br />administrative approval by the Zonjng Administrator or other Authorized Aunt. Plan approval does <br />not indicate compliance with Building Code or Electric Code All systems shall comply with the <br />Minnesota State Building and Electric Code. <br />(B) Submittal requirements An application for a solar energy system shall be filed on a form <br />provided by the City. In addition, the applicant shall submit the following: <br />(1) Plan application for solar energy systems shall be accompanied by scaled horizontal and <br />vertical (elevation) drawings. The drawings must show the location of the system pn the <br />building, or on the wroperty for a ground- mounted system jncluding the property lines <br />a. For all building- mounted systems other than a flat roof the elevation drawings <br />shall show the highest finished slow. of the solar collector and the slop of the <br />finished roof surface on which it is mounted <br />b. For flat - building - building systems a drawing shall be submitted showing the <br />distance to the roof edge and any parapets on the building and shall identify the <br />height of the building on the street frontage side the shorWsLdLqano of he <br />
