ANTHONY VILLAGE WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />SECTION 4 Page 4 <br />Problem 4.7.A <br />Stormwater management associated with redevelopment activities. <br />Corrective Action 4.7.A <br />The City will continue to identify opportunities to implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) <br />to control erosion, sedimentation, and improve stormwater management. <br />The City has redeveloped the former Apache Retail complex into what is now Silver Lake Village, <br />which includes the Salo Park and Pond. <br />4.8. Education Program <br />Problem 4.8.A <br />The City of St. Anthony Village recognizes the need for local water education programs to <br />increase public awareness of local water management and improve the quality of stormwater <br />runoff. <br />Corrective Action 4.8.A <br />The City of St. Anthony Village will continue to provide educational content and opportunities to <br />residents, businesses, developers, and others. These efforts may include regular notices in the <br />City's monthly newsletter, articles in the local paper, postings on the City website, and flyers in <br />the utility bill. The City may work with RCWD and MWMO to improve the efficiency of educational <br />efforts and reduce duplication. <br />The City will continue to implement educational programs to increase public awareness of the <br />benefits of proper animal waste disposal, rain barrel use, composting, stormwater basin function, <br />controlling invasive species, illicit discharge to stormwater, and utility easements. The City also <br />coordinates a salt best practices program for area stormwater and has also developed a pet- <br />waste education program with the “Doggy Doo Doo” video. <br />4.9. Identification of Potential Problems which are anticipated in the <br />Next 20 Years <br />Problem 4.9.A <br />The City anticipates residents will exert increased pressure to improve the quality of water within <br />the City and the appearance of storm water retention areas. <br />Corrective Action 4.9.A <br />Implementation of this Water Resource Management Plan will address water quantity, quality, <br />and maintenance issues associated with stormwater retention areas. Maintenance of these <br />stormwater retention areas will be further defined in the Stormwater System Maintenance Plan <br />outlined in Section 6. <br />4.10. Availability and Adequacy of Existing Technical Information to <br />Manage Water Resources <br />Problem 4.10.A <br />Additional water quality information may be necessary to address the TMDL on Silver Lake <br />Corrective Action 4.10.A <br />Cooperate with RCWD, MWMO, and Three Rivers Park District to improve to water quality data <br />available within the City.
