Contributing factors in achieving this 30% <br />reduction overtime include: <br /> Annual street reconstruction with water main replacement <br /> Water reuse facility reducing potable water used for Central park irrigation <br /> Advances in Water efficiency in household appliances <br /> Tier water rates <br /> Growing awareness and commitment to water conservation by residents and businesses <br />In summer of 2016 watering restrictions were introduced as part of the response to reduce the <br />risk of exceeding 1.4 dioxin in the water pumped. The impact of watering restriction for 2016 is <br />hard to gauge given the rainfall was above average in 2016. As subsequent years are charted the <br />impact of that action will become more apparent. <br /> <br /> <br />
