JEFF SCHOLL <br />TRAINING SUMMARY DOES NOT INCLUDE <br />NON-POST SWAT, CSO, RESERVES, AND OFFICE <br />STAFF TRAINING <br /> <br />The police department consists of 23 Minnesota <br />POST Board Licensed Police Officers. Each <br />member of the department took part in a minimum <br />of 1523 hours of training in 2016. On average this <br />is over 66 hours of training per Officer. Your 23 <br />member department is in compliance with the <br />Peace Officer Standard and Training (POST) Board <br />mandates. <br />In January: <br />• Active Shooter training with Hennepin <br />County Medical Center and the St Anthony <br />Fire Department happened. <br />• Due to the fact that traffic stops are one of the most common, and dangerous, actions <br />performed by police officers, officers took part in traffic tactics and techniques. This <br />training covered fundamentals, communication, unique vehicles, night time approach, <br />search and frisk, and case law. <br />• Another officer started the long certification process of becoming a Use-of-Force <br />Instructor. <br />In February: <br />• An officer became an Evidence Specialist. He was taught methods of managing <br />property and evidence. <br />• Our investigators learned more on digital evidence. Investigators learned how to <br />identity and collect evidence involving computers and the internet in the investigation <br />of missing or abducted children.
